Pre-requisits:
Organize telescope access with Telescope Manager and mail to telescopework
ARGOS chiller must be running (
HowToStartChiller
)
ARGOS power must on (
HowToEnableMainPower
)
ARGOS software must be running (
HowToStartSoftware
)
Procedure
Open AArb (ARGOS Arbitrator) GUI
Command line: argos_?x_arbitrator_engineering_gui
On Desktop: Go Application -> Argos ?X -> arbitrator
Tab 'Main': Press 'Power up'
All controllers should be in "UNKNOWN", in state "POWERED_OFF" do "Restart" first
This will take a while. End state will be
Sources taking the most time are:
LAS: Warming up lasers (end status: Standby 1 shutter closed)
LGSW: Cooling down the CCD (end temperature -20deg)
Tab 'Main': Press 'Set up'
This will initialize motors and
BCU
. Important step in case of recovery!
Tab 'Main': Press 'Start up'
Lasers should be minimum in class 1 to succeed
Lasers will emit light within the laser box
Tab 'Main': Press 'Prepare'
This state change will check the connection to the AOS and FLAO.
Notes:
Yellow transition states can not be interrupted and do not accept command!
Overall system can be monitored in a status GUI:
Command line: argos_?x_status_gui
On Desktop: Go Application -> Argos ?X -> argos all ?x status gui
